28 January, 2021 | Residential

The site involved is at the centre of this view from September 2018

FURTHER residential development is being lined up for Dalmarnock.

Thenue Housing Association propose to develop land at Lily Street and Connal Street, beside Springfield Road.

The site was previously occupied by Dalmarnock Community Centre.

Glasgow City councillors are being asked to approve off-market disposal of the land to the housing association.

Thenue’s proposal is for 45 residential units for social rent.

There would be 30 flats and 15 terraced houses, containing a mixture of two to four bedrooms.

In November 2018, Thenue consulted over proposals for 64 properties on adjacent land although no planning application was submitted.

A neighbouring site has been purchased by supermarket chain Lidl. It has not announced any plans for a store yet.

Work is underway on a major flats development nearby at Dalmarnock Road, beside the station.
