A LARGE retail unit — to be occupied by Home Bargains — has been approved at Clyde Gateway Trading Park.

The 2,078-square metre store, with 120 parking spaces, will have a corporate retail warehouse unit design.

It will be on vacant land, off Dalmarnock Road at the northern edge of Rutherglen, beside a new Starbucks drive-thru which has also been approved by South Lanarkshire Council.

The range of goods sold by Home Bargains includes health and beauty products, fragrances, clothing, pet goods non-perishable food and confectionary, drinks, homeware, toys and games

The company already have a store in Rutherglen town centre but say they intend to keep it open — they have nine years left on their lease.
