WORK To Start On First Connecting Woodside Cycle Path

18 December, 2019 | Active Travel

CONSTRUCTION of a cycle route on Garscube Road, Glasgow is to start early in 2020, the first phase of the Connecting Woodside active travel project.

The segregated path will go from Firhill Road to the underpass at Dobbie’s Loan.

A signalised pedestrian crossing will be provided at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Wallace Studio premises.

There will also be significant remodelling of the junction of Possil Road/Garscube Road/St George’s Road to enhance the facilities for people walking and cycling.

The route will connect with a link to be created with the canal on the grassed area near the Firhill Road junction, above.

Other projects being worked on as part of the Connecting Woodside network include detailed designs for making West Princes Street a comfortable and accessible walking route and a simple, obvious and safe cycling route.

Designs for cycling and walking improvements on St George’s Road are also being developed.
