CONSTRUCTION of The Student Hotel’s 500-bedroom building is well underway, the first phase of the Candleriggs Square development in Glasgow’s Merchant City.

Described by developers as Scotland largest hotel, it will be the brand’s first UK site.

The Student Hotel operates a ‘hybrid’ hospitality model offering a mix of functions, including hotel accommodation, co-living and co-working spaces, a bar and restaurant, conference rooms and fitness centre.

Drum Property Group’s massive regeneration project on a site bounded by Candleriggs, Trongate, Hutcheson Street and Wilson Street will also include a 346-apartment build-to-rent scheme and commercial space.
