SOUTH Side Takeaway Plan Rejected

1 November, 2021 | Food and Drink

PLANNERS have refused a hot food takeaway proposed for a prominent corner site on Glasgow’s South Side.

The outlet was to be at the junction of Coplaw Street and Pollokshaws Road.

City council officials said operation of a “substantial” external seating area late at night would result in an increase in noise and activity that would “unacceptably impact on the residential amenity of neighbouring properties”.

There was also inadequate information regarding a number of matters including energy, the ventilation system amd lighting.

The site is currently in use as a temporary builder’s yard and site office.

No details regarding the type of outlet it was to be were given in planning documents.
