A DISUSED Southside car showroom is being lined up for retail and wholesale used.

A change-of-use proposal has been submitted to Glasgow City Council for premises at 280 Shields Road.

A document included with the application states: “The new retail offering will provide a convenience store serving the local market, a specialist food store offering Asian foods and groceries, reflecting local demand, and a wholesale trade business will supply fresh foods and bulk items to businesses locally such as restaurants and hot-food take-aways.”

There will be a total sales area of 606 square metres.

The showroom closed in spring 2021.

The application is pending consideration by city planners.
