SERVICED Apartments Plan For Empty Glasgow City Centre Sports Shop Site

25 February, 2019 | News, Residential

EMPTY retail space above a Sauchiehall Street pub is being lined up for serviced apartments.

Sava Estates have applied to convert the former Greaves Sports premises above Lauder’s Bar.

Twenty-seven serviced apartments would be created in the upper floors of the B-listed building at the corner with Renfield Street, if approved by Glasgow City Council. The entrance would be created out of the former shopfront and there would be a ground floor reception area.

A statement submitted to planners explains that the individual apartments will be fitted out to a high standard, with nine on each floor.

It continues: “The proposed development will bring these vacant properties into active use and in the process provide quality service apartments for those visiting the city.”

Lauder’s has been closed since a major fire in the adjoining building in March last year.  |  More photos of the fire
