A 20-STOREY serviced apartment block is due to open near George Square next year.

The build-to-rent tower on the corner of Martha Street and John Street will be the first complex to be operated under Cheval Residences’s My Locanda brand.

There will be 176 short and long-term serviced apartments plus co-living and co-working facilities, a gym and outdoor spaces.

The building, originally intended as student accommodation, is part of the Love Loan development which involves much of the block bounded by Martha Street, John Street, North Frederick Street and George Street.

It includes a new 245-bed AC by Marriott Hotel and food and drink venues.
