PLANNERS have approved revised proposals for development at art and events venue SWG3.
Permission has been given for commercial studio space to be built on the roof of the premises at Eastvale Place, Yorkhill, instead of a restaurant.
A design document submitted with SWG3’s planning application stated: “The vision is to create a unique rooftop workplace within Glasgow, one that connects not only to the SWG3 Garden and the surrounding cityscape but also to the rest of the SWG3 Campus.
“The new rooftop extension will provide a shared workspace that contains 14 individual studios of varying sizes, a shared meeting room, a communal breakout space and a shared kitchen space.
“There is potential for the studio spaces to connect strongly with the garden below via external amenity spaces and walkway around the studios but also for various occupants to interact with each other in a dynamic and open environment.”
