CONSULTATION is taking place over proposals to knock down a large leisure club at Finnieston and replace it with a residential development.

Hampshire Pension Fund have started a pre-application process regarding the site at 11 Minerva Way, currently Nuffield’s Glasgow West End fitness and wellbeing facility which includes a swimming pool, spa, gym and cafe.

The building would be demolished in favour of residential accommodation and/or flats.

A drop-in consultation event will take place on Wednesday 20 February from 2 to 7pm at Radisson Red Hotel, Tunnel Street.

A spokesman for Nuffield Health said: “We are aware of the proposals and are unable to comment on the planning process.”
