RESIDENTIAL Development Plan For Anniesland Site

3 May, 2022 | Residential

DEVELOPERS are proposing a major build-to-rent flats complex beside the railway station at Anniesland.

Calmont Group has started pre-application consultation over the plan for 136 apartments at the old job centre site at Herschell Street.

The dwellings would mainly comprise one-bed flats and larger two-bed corner flats, along with a smaller number of studio apartments.

There would be two blocks of five to seven storeys with landscaped courtyard spaces, communal gardens, roof terraces and large private balconies or terraces for every dwelling.

The application site is beside the northbound platform of Anniesland station and the car park of a Morrisons supermarket.

Planning permission was previously granted, in September 2016, for the conversion of the empty job centre building to 48 residential flats by Mactaggart & Mickel however that did not proceed and the building has since been demolished.

The developer states online: “The conversion of this site to residential use would present a highly sustainable development option as it is a cleared, brownfield opportunity in a highly accessible location.”
