A LARGE fire service site in central Glasgow could be cleared for a major development under plans being drawn up.
A proposal of application notice has been submitted by Scottish Fire And Rescue Service for their Cowcaddens Fire Station complex at Port Dundas Road.
Redevelopment is proposed with possible uses including residential and student accommodation, retail and commercial uses and leisure.
No further details are given. Under planning rules governing major developments, public consultation will have to take place ahead of an application being submitted to Glasgow City Council.
Permission was given this week for hundreds of flats across the road from the fire station.
And pre-application consultation has been taking place over plans for a major residential development at nearby Buchanan House.
