PUBLIC Can Comment On Latest City Centre Avenue Proposals

23 January, 2020 | News, Public Realm

CONSULTATION has started over the next phase of the Avenues public realm transformation in Glasgow City Centre.

Public views are being sought about proposals for Glassford Street and Stockwell Street.

Visualisations showing potential changes have been drawn up. The final designs be subject to review depending on consultation responses.

Measures include wider footways, reducing the number of traffic lanes, high-quality paving, level pedestrian crossing points, hedge and tree-planting, and a two-way segregated cycle path between Bridgegate and Stockwell Place.

Details and a survey are online.

The Avenues programme aims to make streets more people-friendly, with improvements for pedestrian and cyclists.
