18 September, 2018 | News

PLANS to convert a north Glasgow bar into a restaurant and a shop have been approved.

Glasgow city planners agreed to the change-0f-use application for the Ashfield Bar premises in Hawthorn Street, next to Ashfield Stadium, home to Ashfield Junior Football Club and Glasgow Tigers Speedway Team.

Officials granted permission for the public bar and function suite to be turned into a separate restaurant, with small takeaway facility, and a retail unit.

This will involve external alterations including large windows being created on the Hawthorn Street side of the building.

It’s anticipated that restaurant opening hours would be 10am to 11pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

The shop would be open seven days a week, 10am to 10pm.

No details are given in application documents about the kind of restaurant and shop they would be.
