17 January, 2022 | Residential

SEVENTY homes are being proposed for the site of a former school in Glasgow.

Robertson Living wants to develop land formerly occupied by Howford School on Crookston Road, beside White Cart Water.

The developer has started a consultation process in advance of submitting a planning application.

A document outlining the plans states: “The proposal is for a new residential development of around 70 new homes.

“New homes front onto Crookston Road, providing a welcoming arrival and streetscape enhancements to this section of Crookston Road.

“A large area of existing trees, is retained in the west of the site with opportunities to provide biodiversity enhancements and amenity value.

“A band of trees along the boundary parallel with the watercourses will also be retained to protect this area and the potential biodiversity value.

“A band of trees bounding existing properties to the eastern side of the site will also be retained to protect amenity of existing homes and [Linthaugh] nursery.”
