PRE-Five Centre Approved For Vacant Nitshill Property

13 August, 2019 | News

GLASGOW City planners have agreed that an empty office building in Nitshill can be used as a nursery.

Officials approved the change-of-use application involving premises at 590 Nitshill Road.

The nursery will have capacity for 114 children. Three separate rooms will be created — one for babies, one for two to three-year-olds and the last for three to five-year-olds. Operational hours will be 7am to 7pm.

The planning department report states: “The existing vacant building is single storey and benefits from off-street, secure parking, secure rear amenity space and existing ventilated kitchen facilities.

“The proposal would result in the reconfiguration of the internal spaces to provide appropriate child and staff spaces as well as an increased kitchen area and internal storage areas.

“The proposed facility would be in close proximity to residential properties but far enough removed to not be likely to directly affect any properties in terms of noise or odours.”

There are 26 off-street parking spaces at the site.
