PLANS Progress For Flats At Surplus Factory Site

2 March, 2023 | News

FURTHER consultation is taking place over plans for nearly 300 flats on part of an industrial site on Glasgow’s south side.

Cala Homes West, in partnership with Celeros Flow Technology, are proposing residential development at the site of surplus factory buildings on Inverlair Avenue, Cathcart.

The plan is for 276 apartments in four blocks, four to six storeys in height.

The consultation website states: “The proposals seek to create modern, open and sustainable places to live. The development will offer a range of apartments sizes and types to appeal to a variety of residents.

“The value of private amenity space, and the benefit this brings to the well-being to residents, is a central theme of the project. The majority of apartments will be provided with balconies or roof terraces to benefit from the site orientation and views over the green spaces.”

The developers state: “Cala and Celeros share a vision that will boost investment in Cathcart and stimulate growth locally, securing the future of a historic manufacturing facility whilst meeting demand for high quality housing.”

They continue: “The proposed development of circa 300 sustainable apartments is being designed to maximise amenity space whilst incorporating pedestrian cycle friendly routes where possible.

“Our proposals will include shared and private open spaces that will be landscaped and integrate seating areas and parking within the design.”

Feedback is being sought ahead of a planning application being submitted.
