PLANNERS Asked To Approve Kelvinhaugh Mews Development

31 July, 2020 | Residential

MEWS houses are being proposed for a concealed site in Kelvinhaugh.

Mitre Properties have applied to develop overgrown vacant land at Overnewton Place, off Kelvinhaugh Street, beside Glasgow University’s Cairncross House student accommodation.

A two-storey office/workshop building formerly occupied the site which was sold to Mitre in 2006 when it was put on the market by Glasgow City Council.

The proposal is for four two-bedroom properties. Bedrooms will be on the ground floor with full width living/kitchen space on the upper level along with external terraces.

There would be shared open space and three parking spaces.

The application is pending assessment by city planners.

Plans were previously approved for a business unit in 2008.
