5 March, 2021 | Arts, Leisure, Entertainment and Sport

CITY planners have agreed that empty units at the St Enoch Centre can be turned into an adventure bar featuring axe-hurling and crazy golf.

They approved Boom Battle Bar’s application to open a venue by combining four vacant shops on the first floor of the complex.

It will feature a range of leisure and entertainment including electric darts, pool, axe-throwing, shuffleboard and crazy golf.

Opening hours would be 10am to midnight, Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to 2am on Friday and Saturday.

St Enoch will be their first Scottish site; Boom Battle Bar currently have premises in Norwich and Cardiff and are also opening in Liverpool.

Documents submitted to Glasgow planners state that three of the units have been marketed for several years without lettings being secured.

Of the 41 units currently on the first floor, 15 are vacant.

Last year, permission was given for a mini-golf attraction to open in the Hamleys store at the St Enoch Centre.

Development of a cinema and nine restaurant units on the first floor of the centre is currently being completed.
