PERMISSION Sought For Housing At School Site

22 July, 2022 | News

SIXTY-five homes are being proposed for the site of a former school in Glasgow.

Robertson Living wants to develop land formerly occupied by Howford School on Crookston Road, beside White Cart Water.

A design document submitted with the application states that there would be frontage to Crookston Road, with a variety of house types, “providing an attractive streetscape”.

It continues: “The proposal includes a mix of medium density detached, semi-detached and terraced houses. This housing mixture is in keeping with the storey height and massing of surrounding residential areas.”

There would be a single point of access from Crookston Road.

Mature trees along the steep river embankment to north-east would be kept, maintaining river character and buffer.

Trees would also be retained along the south eastern boundary providing separation between existing development and new homes.

The application is pending assessment by city planners.
