PERMISSION Sought For 18-Storey Flats Block In Central Glasgow

18 September, 2018 | News, Residential

DEVELOPER Structured House is seeking approval for a block with 144 flats on a site near the Clyde in Glasgow City Centre.

Their application involves demolishing office premises in Hydepark Street, just off Anderston Quay, and building an 18-floor residential development.

The building would be beside an existing multi-storey block and would contain 28 studio flats, 52 one-bedroom flats, 61 two-bedroom flats and three apartments with three bedrooms.

There would be 75 car parking spaces and storage for 144 bicycles.

In documents submitted on behalf of Structured House, architects Carson Sall state: “The overall development in essence is an optimistic ‘living machine’ celebrating Glasgow’s architecture, design, urban planning and engineering located near its birth place on the banks of the River Clyde.”

The application is pending assessment by Glasgow City Council planning officers.
