PLANNERS have approved office use for empty city centre premises.
City officials agreed a change-of-use application submitted for the ground floor at 35 Virginia Street which has been vacant since it was built.
Permitted uses for the space were retail, food/drink and financial/professional and other services.
A mezzanine level is also proposed as part of the office plan.
A document submitted to planners stated: “Despite continued marketing, there has been little interest in the unit within the approved use classes.
“The change of use proposes investment and the active use of a vacant unit.
“The proposals will contribute positively to the city centre at this location and provide an active frontage.”
