28 August, 2021 | Food and Drink

RESTAURANT group Viva Italia are to open an eatery in the former Zizzi’s premises in Glasgow city centre.

The company — which has several brands, including Tony Macaroni and Mozza — has confirmed it will have an Italian restaurant in the A-listed building in Royal Exchange Square.

Drawings submitted to city planners show the ground floor will have dining capacity for 156 people.

The mezzanine currently has dining space for 52 but Viva Italia have applied for permission to create space for 24 extra seats on that floor.

Their listed building application is pending assessment by the city council.
