NEW Mixed Use Plan For Former BHS Site

30 May, 2022 | News

THE vacant British Homes Stores building in Glasgow City Centre is the subject of new proposals.

The pre-application process required under Scottish planning rules for a major development is underway for the 67 Sauchiehall Street site.

Few details have been released in initial documentation except that the plan is for a mixed use scheme comprising offices, retail, food/drink and commercial units plus assembly/leisure and non-residential institution.

British Homes Stores closed in 2016 after more than 50 years of trading from the premises.

A mixed use development was approved for the site in October 2017 but has not progressed.

Last summer city officials agreed changes to planning conditions relating to the building following ‘concrete interest’ from a major high street retailer. The operator was not identified and the proposal has so far not proceeded.
