DEVELOPERS have released images of the evolving proposals for the transformation of the Buchanan Galleries site in Glasgow City Centre.
Lead tenant Landsec plan to demolish the shopping centre and create a mixed-use urban neighbourhood.
Proposed elements include creation of a public park or pavilion above the railway on Cathedral Street, see images above, and a fully accessible street level entrance at the Royal Concert Hall, removing the landmark area of steps.
The multi-storey car park is included in the demolition and would not be replaced.
Nick Davis, head of retail development at Landsec, said: “We are committed to creating a new world-class environment in Glasgow to ensure the city continues to thrive into the future.”
Public consultation is continuing ahead of a planning application being submitted.
