LARGER McDonald’s Drive-Thru Plan For Asda, Toryglen Gets Go-Ahead

30 March, 2020 | News, Food and Drink

CITY planners have approved revised plans for a 24-hour drive-thru McDonald’s restaurant at Toryglen.

The company already had permission for single-storey outlet with 107 seats at Asda on Prospecthill Road but have now been given permission for a two-storey building with 180 seats instead.

The original proposal was for part of the car park beside the road but the new plan is for an area in the northeastern part of the car park (pictured below).

It is an alternative to another already-approved plan for six commercial units.

A report by planner stated: “The proposed drive-thru would operate 24 hours. Given the location of the site within the existing 24-hour Asda car park and separated from the nearest residential property by a minimum of 140 metres, these hours of operation are not considered to be detrimental to the residential amenity of adjacent properties.”
