DEMOLITION of the old Haghill Primary School in Glasgow’s East End is well underway.
City council officials have previously stated that the B-listed structure, in Marwick Street, Dennistoun, fell into “a state of considerable disrepair” because of “prolonged vacancy and the lack of any investment”.
The three-storey school building with basement and a two-storey schoolhouse date from the early 1900s and take up a whole block. The school closed in 2004.
A housing association development is proposed for the site although details have not been confirmed as yet.
It’s expected that some of the original façade with sandstone/materials from the demolished building will be included.
