HOUSING For Elderly Approved At Cardonald

20 June, 2019 | News

PERMISSION has been given for a development of 32 flats for elderly people in Cardonald.

Glasgow’s planning applications committee approved Loretto Housing Association’s application for Hallrule Drive, on the site of the disused Berryknowes Resource Centre.

There will be three blocks — one with three floors, containing 24 flats, and the others both with two floors, each with four units.

A communal garden will be created at the centre of the development.

A document submitted with the application states the aim is to provide high quality housing that “encourages older people to move from under-occupied suburban family homes into ‘right-sized’ dwellings in the heart of their communities”.

Twenty-three off-street car parking spaces will be provided.
