HOUSING Association Plans Homes For The Elderly In Cardonald

23 August, 2018 | News, Residential

A 32-UNIT residential development for elderly people is being proposed for a site in Cardonald.

Loretto Housing Association wants to build a complex with a three-storey apartment block plus cottage flats at Hallrule Drive on the site of the disused Berryknowes Resource Centre.

A communal garden would be created at the centre of the development.

A document submitted with the application states the aim is to provide high quality housing that “encourages older people to move from under-occupied suburban family homes into ‘right-sized’ dwellings in the heart of their communities”.

The planning application is pending assessment by Glasgow City Council officials.
