HOUSES and flats have been approved for a large vacant site in Dalmarnock.

Thenue Housing Association has been given planning permission for 41 units for social rent at land between Connal Street and Springfield Road.

There will be 19 flats and 22 terraced homes, a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties.

A design statement included with the application explained: “The development proposes to reinvigorate a neglected brown field site…and positively impact on the wider area of the Dalmarnock regeneration.

“The design looks to reference the existing surroundings including the newly built Athletes’ Village, and with a view to the future Phase 2 of this development, opposite the site, in the form, massing and materiality of these proposals.”

The application approved by city planners.
