HOTEL Applies To Extend Into Adjacent Properties

PLANNERS are being asked to agree that a city centre hotel can expand into neighbouring buildings at an upper floor level.

The Rennie Mackintosh Hotel at 50 Union Street has applied to convert space from 27 to 45 Union Street.

The extra accommodation, in vacant commercial property, would be on the third floor, linked to the existing hotel.

The extension would be along the third floor of nearby properties

Documents submitted to the planning department show 15 bedrooms.

The application is pending consideration by officials.
