GREEN Signal For New JD Wetherspoon Bar/Restaurant At Glasgow Central Station

24 July, 2018 | News, Food and Drink

PLANS for a JD Wetherspoon bar/restaurant at Glasgow Central Station have been approved by city planners.

The national chain will take over the former Central Bar premises, above shops such as Boots and M&S Simply Food.

JD Wetherspoon had to apply for permission to make internal and external alteration because the space is part of a listed building.

Plans show the bar/restaurant will have 142 seats.

A report by planning officer stated: “The proposed works will not detract from the historic character of the building and will not be detrimental to its appearance. As such, it is recommended that listed building consent be granted, subject to conditions.”
