GREEN Light For New East End Community Park

4 February, 2022 | Public Realm, Parks and Greenspaces

PLANS by regeneration initiative Clyde Gateway to improve an area of open space and woodland in Glasgow’s East End have been approved.

Council planners have given the go-ahead for a community park to be created on land adjacent to Bridgeton Community Learning Campus (BCLC). The site is bounded by Old Dalmarnock Road, Dunn Street and Finnart Street.

A design statement submitted with the application stated: “The proposed works will deliver a new local community park space that exploits an existing under-utilised and under-managed woodland resource,

“The project includes improvements to the existing path network, improved boundary connections, the incorporation of informal woodland play elements, an informal junior pump track and the creation of a new community growing space attached to BCLC building.”
