APPROVAL has been given for a flats development at a car park in Govan.
CCG (Scotland) Ltd, in partnership with a social landlord, will build 46 flats on the corner of Langlands Road and Golspie Street, beside Govan Cross Shopping Centre.
There will be two blocks containing a mix of 26 one-bedroom and 20 two-bedroom dwellings for ‘affordable rent’.
A statement included with the planning application explained: “The proposed flat type plans have been developed in consultation with an RSL [registered social landlord] partner to deliver one and two bedroom dwellings suitable for a range of tenure including :
• Young professionals – due to the proximity of public transport
• Young families – with the provision of generous four-person flats
• Elderly – due to proximity to the local facilities and transportation.”
