GO-Ahead Given For Major East End Housing Development

15 August, 2023 | News

PERMISSION has been granted for 128 houses and flats on former industrial land in Carntyne.

The proposal by AS Homes Scotland involves land on Myreside Street at Rigby Street.

There will be 90 houses, a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties.

Thirty-eight flats will be built in a four-storey block, nine with one bedroom and 29 with two bedrooms.

There will be 128 car parking spaces for residents and 32 for visitors.

The site was originally developed as a munitions factory during the First World War.

An existing metal clad factory and brown brick building partly occupy the site. These were used until recently for steel fabrication.

The application was approved by Glasgow City planners.
