GO-Ahead Given For Flats Conversion At City Centre Premises

8 October, 2021 | Listed / Historic Buildings

THE upper floors of two buildings in St Enoch Square, Glasgow can be turned into apartments, planners have agreed.

They approved an application seeking permission to convert empty offices at 26 to 36 St Enoch Square into 26 flats.

One of the buildings — 34/36 St Enoch Square — is B-listed.

Twenty-two of the flats will have one bedroom and four will be two-bedroom duplexes.

Externally the proposal involves replacement of rooflights, roof repairs, façade repairs and replacement windows.

A report by city planners states: “St Enoch Square was historically designated to be a residential square and so these proposals reintroduce residential back into St Enoch Square and will provide Glasgow City Centre with much needed central living.”

Ground floor retail space is not affected.
