PLANS for a residential development in the Gorbals have been approved by Glasgow City planners.

New Gorbals Housing Association have been given permission to build 28 houses and flats at the former Gorbals Health Centre plot on Pine Place.

There will be 18 one and two-bedroom flats and 10 four and five-bedroom houses.

A design document included with the application stated: “The Pine Place development will provide new homes for social rent near the centre of Glasgow, building on the recent and continuing regeneration of the wider Gorbals area.”

The health centre closed in 2019 following opening of a new facility nearby.
