PLANS have been drawn up for a housing development in Garthamlock.

AS Homes (Scotland) want to build 26 terraced and semi-detached houses for private sale on the site of the former St Mungo’s Church in Tillycairn Drive.

A design statement submitted with the application explains: “The new homes shall be constructed using a palette of high quality materials that enhance the local streetscape.

“Reflecting the typical construction, dominant across the locality the development shall utilise a multi-brick to provide a sense of continuity whilst adding interest and variety.

“Contemporary detailing such as ribbed brickwork panels and feature cills have been incorporated into the design. These details will assist in placemaking and create attractive, modern homes.”

The proposal is pending assessment by Glasgow City planners.
