PLANNERS are being asked to agree that upper floor office space at city centre premises can be turned into flats.
The change of use is proposed for 114 Union Street, beside the historic Egyptian Halls, across from Central Station.
Thirteen flats would be formed, a mixture one and two-bedroom units.
A supporting statement submitted with the application explains: “As the existing building is located within a conservation area, it is important to retain as many original features on the facades as possible.
“The red sandstone building stands out on Union Street with its ornate carvings and details.
“The only change being proposed to the front facade is the replacement of the windows.”
