DRIVE-Thru Starbucks Agreed For Govan Pizza Hut Site

26 February, 2019 | News

PLANS to change a Pizza Hut restaurant in Govan into a Starbucks drive-thru coffee shop have been approved by Glasgow City Council.

City planners have given the go-ahead for changes to the building at Junction 24 Retail Park, Helen Street.

As well as the new Starbucks, the premises will also be sub-divided to create another food and drink outlet, although no operator for that is identified in the application documents.

A document submitted with the proposal stated: “The drive-thru coffee shop will provide a complementary service to the existing retail park and by its very nature would not be suitable in a town centre location, given the need to be in close proximity to an arterial vehicular route whilst providing sufficient space for the drive-thru lane and associated parking.”
