STARBUCKS And KFC Drive-Thrus Proposed For Site Near Glasgow Harbour

8 October, 2018 | News

PLANNERS are being asked to approve two drive-thru food and drink outlets on land between Glasgow Harbour flats and the Clydeside Expressway.

An application has been made to Glasgow City Council by Glasgow Harbour Developments Ltd seeking permission for a drive-thru cafe and a drive-thru restaurant on a site east of Sawmill Road on Castlebank Street.

Drawings submitted to the council show the units proposed would be operated by Kentucky Fried Chicken and coffee chain Starbucks.

A document submitted with the application states: “The proposed development will transform disused, vacant land into vibrant and welcoming drive-thru cafe and restaurant units thus creating a safer environment for local residents by encouraging footfall in the area and increasing activity on the site and throughout surrounding streets.”

The application is pending assessment by officials.
