A NEIGHBOURHOOD shopping and commercial centre — including a drive-thru coffee shop — is being proposed for a site at Darnley Mains.

The development would be beside The Old Plane Tree pub/restaurant and across from the B&Q superstore at Waukglen Road/Leggatston Road on the southern outskirts of Glasgow.

The drive-thru would be a Starbucks and would be just a few hundred yards from a drive-thru Costa Coffee outlet.

The proposal also includes a 683-square-metre building containing six units for retail, food and drink, hot food takeaway and financial and professional services.

A planning application has been lodged by property company Hansteen and is pending assessment by Glasgow City Council planners.
