A GLASGOW distillery has applied for permission to build a creative hub.

John Dewar and Sons want to build the centre at their site at 1700 London Road in the East End.

A design statement submitted with the planning application explains: “The site is currently private within an enclosed boundary and in an industrial setting.

“The proposal aims to create more engagement with the brand by opening up the site through an inviting approach and the introduction of a two-storey hub open to private guests.

“The hub is to host a range of spaces including an impactful arrival space, a nosing room and experiential area with public access, and a mix of workspaces for staff on the upper level.

“The hub is to tell the story of John Dewar through both branding and signage and thoughtful interior design.”

The application is pending assessment buy city planners.
