ANOTHER Glasgow City Centre site is being lined up for a major student complex.
The proposal involves demolishing a vacant office block on St Vincent Street at Pitt Street
Over the past few years, developer Artisan Real Estate have drawn up plans for a 248-bed hotel and then a 248-studio residential serviced living complex for the site.
But it has now submitted a proposal of application notice (PAN) to Glasgow City Council for student accommodation.
No further details are given. Pre-application consultation is required before a planning application is submitted.
Proposals for four other student accommodation buildings in the city centre were announced towards the end of 2022 — at the corner of Trongate and Hutcheson Street, on Sauchiehall Street, on Queen Street and on Osborne Street.
Meanwhile, planning permission was granted for a 550-room student accommodation building at 225 Bath Street in the city centre in February last year.
