28 July, 2021 | Residential

DETAILED plans for a residential development at a former Glasgow City Council depot have been approved.

Glasgow City planners have given Westpoint Homes permission for 55 flats in three blocks at Greenholme Street, off Holmlea Road in Cathcart, beside the railway line.

The flats will be for sale. Fifty-three of them will have two bedrooms and two will have one bedroom. There will be 53 car parking spaces.

A design statement submitted with the application explained: “The existing site will be cleared to facilitate the creation of a vibrant, dynamic, development promoting liveable urban density.

“Proposals embrace the constraint and opportunity presented by this urban site, whilst protecting and enhancing the wider urban context.

“The development comprises three buildings arranged around a central open space with further pocket spaces to the north and south of the site.”
