PERMISSION is being sought for a residential development at a high-profile junction on Glasgow’s South Side.

A S Homes Scotland Ltd working with Southside Housing Association, are proposing 55 flats for social rent at the vacant Arnold Clark showroom on Pollokshaws Road.

There would be a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom units. There would be no car parking spaces provided.

A planning application has been lodged with Glasgow City Council and is pending consideration by officials.

The site is just yards from another former Arnold Clark location which is also subject to proposals for residential development.
