A NEW drive-through Costa coffee shop can be built at Anniesland Retail Park, Glasgow city planners have agreed.

The development has been approved for the car park at the site.

It is part of a three-phase investment plan for the shopping park near Anniesland Cross. Other enhancements have been provision of a gym in one of the units and improving shop frontages.

The coffee shop will mean a loss of 38 parking spaces but the 139 remaining spaces are considered enough.

Opening hours are expected to be 5am to 11am.

A document submitted with the application stated: “The proposed new coffee shop will enhance the overall space and with it’s sit-in and outdoor seating bring a café culture feel to the Park, heightening the community spirit for local residents, local employees and visiting shoppers.

“The new premises will provide additional employment and ensure future investment in the park.”
