PLANS to turn a Southside bookmakers into a cafe/restaurant have been approved, and a new restaurant proposal has been made for an empty betting shop in Glasgow’s East End.
Glasgow City Council has given permission for the William King premises at 146 Battlefield Road to become an eaterie.
Plans submitted with the application, made by William King, show capacity for up to 60 people.
Meanwhile, city officials are now considering whether the former Totesport shop at 627 Duke Street can be used as a restaurant and hot-food takeaway
Drawings included with the application show it would be a Pepe’s Piri Piri chicken outlet.
It would have seating for 55 people.Hours of operation would be 11am to 11pm, seven days a week.
