NEW hotel operators are due to open their doors at a B-listed Glasgow City Centre building in November.

Boutique Irish brand The Address Collective is opening its first Scottish location at the corner of West George Street and Renfield Street, on completion of refurbishment work.

The four-star hotel — The Address Hotel Glasgow – will be over six floors and will feature 91 bedrooms alongside spa facilities and a gym, two restaurants and a bar.

Dating back to circa 1896, the building was designed by architect James Thomson. It was formerly The Pocotel.

Glasgow Southside firm A. Alexander Group have been appointed to deliver mechanical, electrical, fire and security services as part of the remaining work.

Stewart Alexander, managing director of A. Alexander Group, said: “It’s great to be working on a such a landmark and historic building. We’re delighted to be on board and can’t wait to see the hotel complete in the autumn.”
