PLANNING permission is being sought for 55 houses and flats at a north Glasgow junior football club’s former ground.

Advance Construction (Scotland) Ltd and Ambassador Partnership Homes Ltd have lodged an application involving land on the west side of Southloch Street, Springburn, formerly the location of Petershill Juniors FC’s stadium.

There would be two blocks of flats and four blocks of two storey housing. The properties would be for social rent.

A planning statement included with the proposal explains: “This residential development will re-invigorate the urban form of this part of Springburn with buildings of high-quality design, incorporating features such as secure cycle storage, green space and a children’s play area.”

The application is pending assessment by city planners.
